Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol (2026)

Directed by Ti West (known for X, Pearl, and MaXXXine) and distributed by Paramount Pictures, this 2026 feature film offers a darker, highly stylized, and cinematic reimagining of Charles Dickens’ traditional holiday story. It blends supernatural horror aesthetics with dark comedy, heart, and dramatic depth, marking a major studio return for star Johnny Depp.

Synopsis & Plot
Set in the foggy, snow-covered streets of Victorian London, the movie follows Ebenezer Scrooge—a bitter, isolated, and misanthropic businessman who despises the Christmas season and treats his community with disdain.
On Christmas Eve, Scrooge receives a terrifying visit from the chained ghost of his deceased business partner, Jacob Marley, who warns him of the grim fate awaiting him if he does not change his ways. Over the course of one night, Scrooge is whisked away on a supernatural journey by the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Yet to Come. The spirits force him to confront his painful childhood, his lost love, and the bleak future facing those around him—compelling him to fight for redemption before time runs out.
